Feel better the natural way!
La santé, naturellement!
Hi! My name is Carine (she/her) and I'm a Registered Acupuncturist practicing in Rockland and Orleans, Ontario. I am so happy that you made it here and I hope we can work together in the future.
When I was 19 years old, I sought out acupuncture treatments for allergies. Right away, I was amazed at how much this medicine could help me. Throughout my life, I kept coming back to it whenever I needed help, for physical as well as mental health issues. When I decided it was time for me to go back to school and find a career that would also be a passion, it was a no-brainer, I would become an acupuncturist.
In June 2022, I graduated with Honours from the International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ottawa as an Acupuncture Practitioner. I am a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturist of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
I am a mom of 3 boys first and foremost. It goes without saying that this shapes my practice and the things that I'm passionate about. I used to be a doula and a lactation peer support for several years. I was also certified as a 200 hours yoga teacher in 2017 and I am also trained in pre-natal and yin yoga. Furthermore, I hold a college certificate in Social Work. I am a resident of Rockland and I grew up in the beautiful Laurentians.
I offer services in both English and French.
Other training and continuing education:
I seek to provide a holistic approach in caring for my patients. I take the time we need to evaluate all the things that can have an impact on your health and discuss a plan that you agree on. I also believe that most people benefit from several types of modalities so I love working in collaboration with other professionals to achieve the best results together. Most importantly, I care about my patient and I want to provide you with a calm, nurturing and safe experience.
I strive to keep learning and gaining more knowledge that you can benefit from. I am constantly looking for more professional development opportunities and I will share my new discoveries with you.
My practice will also always be a safe space for everyone: members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, BIPOC folks, people with addictions or mental health issues and anyone who needs it.
I am welcoming to anyone who feels they need Chinese medicine in their life. If you are called to acupuncture, please feel free to reach out to me and see if this is a good fit for you. If I'm not exactly sure how to address your particular issue, I will do my research and make sure I provide the best treatment possible.
I do have a few areas of interest: women's health, both physical and mental (from fertility to menopause to pregnancy and post-partum support); treating the whole family, including children; mental health and addictions as well as facial rejuvenation.
Chinese medicine has been around for thousands of years. With modern research, it has been proven to be effective in many of situations. Our goal is always to bring back a balance to the body and then maintain it. I will carefully gather your health history, we will discuss your chief complaint and I will use diagnostic tools like pulse and tongue examination to establish a Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment plan.
We will discuss your treatment plan together, talk about expectations, number of sessions expected and work you can do at home to keep improving. This is a team effort and nothing is magic!
During a session, I might use different modalities like needling, cupping, gua sha, tuina or moxibustion. I will explain to you exactly what each of these techniques entail and what to expect. I wish to promote healing in my patients as well as a feeling of well-being after each treatment.
I also offer sessions for children! We can treat a variety of issues with pain free laser acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and tuina. I'm happy to answer any question about these sessions.
Issues we can treat with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modalities (this is NOT an exhaustive list, the possibilities are practically endless!)
Don't hesitate to contact me here if you have more questions. Please also take a moment to visit our FAQ page. Some of your questions might be answered there.
Our bodies are quite adept at repairing themselves. We use methods that aid that natural ability with modalities like acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, electro acupuncture, moxibustion, etc.
Acupuncture treatments are available to the whole family! It is possible to treat children as young as 2 years old for all kinds of issues like colds, immunity care, digestive problems and more. I use pain-free laser therapy for children as well as very sensitive patients.
My areas of particular interest as a practitioner are:
But I will be happy to treat anyone who feels called to acupuncture!
For specific questions on the treatments, visit the FAQ section or contact me.
The NADA protocol involves the placement of 5 needles in the ear for a duration of 30 to 45 min. It can be done quickly by the practitioner therefore making it an affordable alternative for the patient. It can be done on its own or part of a full body treatment or even part of a community event, therapy session, etc.
The benefits include:
You will need to book an initial consultation so we can discuss next steps and a treatment plan for you.
Facial Rejuvenation or Cosmetic acupuncture involves needling the face and neck with the goal of naturally reducing the signs of aging and promoting skin health. I also use gentle techniques like cupping, gua sha and tuina to complete the experience in a very relaxing way.
It is considered an extension of traditional acupuncture, based on many of the same principles and uses a similar whole-body approach.
The differences to regular acupuncture lie mainly in the different needle types and needling techniques used.
Please consider that you will probably have to attend at least 10 sessions to complete a whole course of treatment. Details and treatment plan can be discussed during the Initial consultation.
